We recommend that the unit be at the top of the doghouse for the comfort of your pet as well as it tends to allow the most extra space for your pet. Any vertical wall is ok to mount the Hound Heater™ (never the ceiling).
Frequently Asked Questions – Hound Heater™ Deluxe Blue Tooth 300w
I ordered from Amazon and my unit appears repackaged or used?
Please have the unit returned to Amazon immediately and request a new unit. Please email us as well at houndheater@gmail.com.
When I turn on the unit it trips my GFI circuit breaker. Is the unit faulty?
The unit should not trip your circuit breaker under normal operating conditions. If you have the correct outdoor 18 (or higher) gauge extension cord and the unit is plugged in correctly, the most likely cause is that the ground wire is lose in the unit. Please email us at houndheater@gmail.com
The fan is making a lot of noise.
The fan should be nearly quiet. If your fan is making substantial noise, see video to clean your unit. If this does not correct the problem, please email us at houndheater@gmail.com.
Where is the “template” that is shown online, it didn’t come with the directions (for Hound Heater™ w/o fan 150w version with a heat shield)?
We can send you a template via email. Email us at houndheater@gmail.com.
The directions I have say 3” from the top for mounting but online it says 9”.
The Hound Heater™ Deluxe can be placed 3” from the top of the doghouse. The 9” directions are for the previous version of the Hound Heater™ that does not have a fan and comes with a heat shield.
Can I plug the cord hole in my doghouse
Yes, you can use fireproof insulation of any type to plug the hole where you inserted the electrical cord.
Can I get an external thermostat?
The Hound Heater™ does not come with an external thermostat.
The 300w Hound Heater Deluxe Blue Tooth unit gives the temperature reading on the app whenever you are connected and in blue tooth range.
The Hound Heater™ fan is working but not getting hot
The fan in the Hound Heater™ Deluxe only comes on when the unit is engaged…meaning the fan and heating element run at the same time. If the fan is running but the heater is not coming on, please email us at houndheater@gmail.com.
